Maybe if the Alfa saloon was a diesel wagon and the SAAB had an LS-swap, it could be salvaged without a Miata.

It does have an Alfa Romeo Spider, which is about as close as you're going to get for that time period.

That one car turned me on to the Lancia 2000. The last properly built Lancia (back when Lancia were known as the Italian Mercedes, which was back when being called 'the x Mercedes' meant good build quality).
2.0l fuel injected flat 4. Yes please :)
